Major Renovation of a Historic Home in New Orleans. An ongoing project that continues to experiment with domestic architectural design.

The house was originally built around 1900. In the 50s, an addition was added that shifted the front entrance from the street front to behind the driveway and relocated the bathroom to the back of the house.

We strived to rework the house to make it more functional for us by opening up the walls, flipping the bedroom and bathroom, and bringing more light in with new skylights and a patio door.

As this was our first major renovation project acting as designers and contractors, we did most of the work ourselves with assistance from our friends and family. We coordinated with subcontractors for electrical, plumbing, structural framing, and HVAC work. We started demolition in May 2022 and moved in 14 months later in July 2023
